ABOUT JILL
I bought my very first camera for $1 at a garage sale when I was just twelve years old. Photography was so fun and magical. I knew immediately that I was hooked. I loved spending the afternoon in the darkroom with my mom and watching as the photographs I took of my friends appeared in the developer. I begged to take summer classes in junior high and could hardly believe that photography was a real class in high school. I loved the darkroom so much that I often spent my lunch hour printing pictures. My time at the University of Texas was much the same. I spent my weekends taking portraits of anyone that would allow it and my weeknights in the darkroom. I was the girl with the camera, and I now have thousands of images to look back on and remember all the fun times and amazing people I’ve known throughout my life.
I am now blessed enough to have made my passion into my career. I love nothing more than to capture an image of a person that truly reflects their individuality and what makes them special. If your heart melts a little when you look at that perfect little smirk or odd little expression, then I have done my job.
I have been a professional photographer in Austin for over fifteen years. I am currently a member of the Professional Photographers of America. I have a bachelor's degree in photojournalism from the University of Texas and I strive to continue my education by attending photography seminars and conferences.
